Why we use information
We use enquiry details to answer questions and help you choose suitable resources. We use account and order information to provide the services you request, confirm orders, deliver available files and resolve problems. We use limited technical information to maintain the website, prevent misuse and diagnose faults.
Our lawful bases, where UK data protection law applies, are taking steps at your request before a contract and performing a contract; our legitimate interests in providing customer support and operating a secure, reliable website, balanced against your rights; and compliance with legal duties such as applicable accounting requirements. When processing requires consent, including relevant optional cookies or marketing, we ask separately. You can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Service providers and disclosures
Providers that operate hosting, website maintenance, email delivery and security may handle information on our behalf as needed to provide those services. For paid orders, the payment provider shown at checkout processes payment details under its own privacy information. If Stripe is offered, you can review Stripe’s Privacy Policy. Do not send card numbers to our support email.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to deal with a legal claim or to protect the security of the service. We do not sell personal information.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside your country. Where a restricted international transfer is involved, we require the safeguards required by applicable data protection law, such as an applicable adequacy arrangement or approved contractual safeguards. Contact us if you would like information about the arrangements relevant to your data.
How long we keep information
We retain enquiries while answering them and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed to follow up or resolve a dispute. Account information is retained while the account is active and afterwards only as needed for outstanding obligations or claims. Transaction records are retained for applicable accounting, tax and consumer-law requirements. Security logs and backups follow the operational retention settings of the service involved. We review information against these purposes and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed. You can ask about the retention period applicable to your records.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your information, restrict its use, object to processing or receive certain information in a portable form. These rights have conditions and exceptions, including where records must be kept by law. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. We respond within the period required by applicable law.
You can raise a concern with us at any time. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or to your relevant local data protection authority.
